Since the train room (shed) was built I’ve been unhappy with the door. At time of build, budget was running low and a cheap wooden door was fitted. Over a couple of winters the door warped, was badly fitted, was draughty, and let rain blow under underneath, not what I wanted. I was also worried about he security provided by such a flimsy door.
After much research I found a supplier of steel security doors online, no one was getting through this, and comes complete with integrated frame ready to fit.
The old door also opened inwards meaning I wasn’t able to maximise the available space in the shed. The new security door opened outwards allowing me to reclaim 4ft of space.
The new reclaimed space in the model railway room would soon me filled but it would mean the moving of the Helix and the start of ‘Project Helix Move’
