Level 2 is the first scenic level of the layout and sits above the lower storage and staging yard. On leaving the storage yard, trains do a couple of loops around the helix (the lower helix) and arrive onto level 2 and eventually into the un planned station on the longest side of the layout
The layout was to have 2 scenic levels, all boxed in with back scenes, sky boards and front fascias. When planning the framework for level 2 I also had to start thinking how the framework would work for level 3 and its top frame. I did not any vertical supports showing in the scenic levels and disturbing the view so all upper levels had to be supported by strong wall brackets. Again, the brackets had to be invisible so had to be boxed in with back scene and sky boards
